Renusol innovates to tap into French building-integrated PV market

14/12/2009

The leading in-roof PV mounting manufacturer, Renusol, has announced it will launch a cutting-edge PV mounting system for roof integration next year. It hopes that its new in-roof system will enable it to further expand its position in the French market, even with the toughening of PV legislation expected from 2010 onward.

In France, PV system aesthetics and design play an essential role, with in-roof installations receiving the maximum feed-in tariff. For 2010, a bill stipulates further conditions for in-roof systems in order to continue to receive the full remuneration. Specifically, the modules themselves are to serve as waterproof and water-draining layer, and the PV system is to be integrated even further into the roof.

With this in mind, Renusol has developed an appropriate and “future proof” solution, the IntraSole DS module, which acts as the waterproof and water-draining layer without much of the actual mounting system being visible after the finished installation.

The IntraSole DS comprises a roof integration system for thin-film modules which complies with these high aesthetic standards and fulfils all conditions for full remuneration established in France’s new PV legislation. Rain water actually runs over the modules rather than under them, thus conforming to the new law. Consequently, the system is even self-cleaning and maintenance-free because leaves and dirt are directly washed off.

IntraSole DS is designed as an extremely adaptable and flexible mounting system and can be optimally fitted on all pitched roofs from 15°, independent of the existing roofing (slate, shingle, tile).

IntraSole DS is expected to be available on the market starting July 2010, while Renusol states that it is currently developing a similar solution for framed modules.
