Last month Renewable Energy Magazine posted an exclusive interview with two executives from Telemark about the HGA house: a luxury Net Zero Home. One of those interviewed, Frank Dalene, has recently returned from participating in a “Workshop on Sustainable and Net-Zero Buildings: Latest Trends and Technologies” held in Manila (Philippines) where he was joined by relative and colleague, Tim Dalene.

The Biffa Group has announced a strategic alliance with M+W Group’s UK team, who will act as the turnkey contractor for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of Biffa’s new waste management facility at the company’s Brookhurst Wood site, in West Sussex (England).

The refurbishment of the Glenuig Inn on Lochaber's stunning coastline has been shaped by two major factors - one safeguarding its historic past and the other creating a shining beacon for the future. The inn located on the west coast of Scotland has been fitted with solar panels to heat water and makes greater use of daylight to illuminate rooms, providing a great example of how renewables can be integrated into even the most traditional of buildings.

Some 3,000 smart metering and utility professionals are gathering in Vienna from 22-24 September to compare and take notes on the progress of the many smart metering roll-out programmes that are taking place across Europe. It is estimated that more than 96 million smart meters will be installed in households by 2014.
