The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry is setting up new standards for light bulbs, both of the incandescent and fluorescent type and will encourage makes to utilize more energy efficient light bulbs. The Ministry plans to use the most efficient light bulb as the new standard and then apply that standard to all other manufactures by a certain date.

The companies which don’t comply will risk facing fines and having their names published. The fluorescent bulbs last longer and save energy , even though costing more initially. Those many companies have promoted them and governments of regions and countries have given them out to save power in the long run.
