The fund primarily invests during the expansion capital phase and generally as a minor shareholder. Its portfolio which counts today 12 investments is covering the whole spectrum of Clean techs, with in particular PAPREC (recycling), VERGNET (wind turbine manufacturer recently introduced on Alternext), GREEN GAS INTERNATIONAL (coal mine and landfill gas recovering), VIB (ventilation and heat pumps) or recently with
€ 6 millions invested in July 2007 in the waste water treatment company TERNOIS.
In order to reinforce its presence in Spain and benefit from this market’s opportunities, particularly in the renewable energies, Demeter Partners has opened an office in Madrid.
The first investment of Demeter in this country was done in partnership with the Spanish venture capital firm, SODENA back in February 2007. Soluciones y Sistemas Solares S.L (3S) is a start up company based in Valencia, specialized in integrated thermal solar systems.
Several opportunities in the renewable energies sector are currently being studied. Demeter hopes to announce before the end of 2007 a second investment on Spanish ground.
