The German utility, which recently reported sale increases, will thus become one of the world's largest green energy operators.
The company, which has had a busy year with the negotiations to purchase Endesa and the barriers imposed by the Spanish government, has already invested the 3 billion it promised to invest by 2010, thanks in part to the acquisition of Ireland's Airtricity business in North America and other investments.
“We operate successfully in almost 30 countries, make an increasingly larger percentage of our earnings outside Germany, and have now again added high growth markets to our portfolio.” said Mr Wulf Bernotat, E.ON's Wulf Bernotat.
