Honda F1 Racing has revealed a radical livery for the 2007 Formula One season, the livery features the earth and is meant to draw awareness to the environmental challenge of climate change. The broad exposure of Formula One and it`s global following on television means that the message of climate change will be shown to a huge world wide audience.
The livery is part of a wider strategy of Honda to draw attention to the problem. Honda has a long track record of tackling enviromental challenges head on with a large portfolio of fuel efficent vehicles and is known for developing clean technologies.
Formula One has apparently been ahead of the curve for quiet some time now, being carbon neutral since 1997. The emissions generated by the Formula One World Championship and World Rally Championship have been offset by financially supporting the Scolel Te project in Mexico. This was indepentent of sponsorship from the teams in the series.
