The deal is still subject to approval by the California Public Utilities Commission includes geothermal , biomass, wind, and solar power. The biomass portion of the contract will assist small scale biomass generators. The solar arm is a photovoltaic project, Southern California Edison is the United States largest renewable energy provider with 13 billion kW ours being delivered per year. This figure is higher then any other utility in the United States. Currently 16 -17 of customer needs are met via renewable energy, by 2010 it is hoped this figure will rise to 20%.
