Abengoa Solar plans to build a 280 megawatt plant in Arizona, providing electricity for 70,000 homes.
Abengoa Solar has announced the signature of a contract with Arizona Public Service Co (APS) for the sale of the electricity during the next 30 years. The plant is expected to provide revenues of over 1 billion dollars to Arizona during its lifetime. It is expected to enter into operation by 2011.
The facility will be located 112 southwest of Phoenix and will prevent the emission of 400,000 tons of greenhouse gases in the state of Arizona.
