Kyocera has announced that it will increase its production capacity to 500 MW in order to keep up with demand. The Japanese company will invest some $250 m in an expansion plant which will be completed by 2011.

The Japanese firm, which is currently the world's third largest cell producer after Sharp and Q-Cells, follows thus its competitors in capacity expansion plans. Kyocera increased its sales last year by 33%, according to company representatives.
