The plant will have an annual production capacity of up to 1.5 gigawatts of solar wafers and cells. The figure may sound irrelevant to some, however many readers will be surprised to know that such amount represents around two thirds of last year's production, estimated to be of 2 gigawatts.
Channel NewsAsia, a local TV, announced that the Economic Development Board of Singapore said that the plant would put the country on the solar industry map.
