General Electric lands deal worth over $1 billion USD with Invenergy for wind tribunes.

 

According the General Electric this marks one of the biggest deals ever signed for a single year for the wind tribune industry.

The deal is for 600 MW of 1.5 MW installations and 200 MW of 2.5xl wind tribunes. The former for the United States and the later bound for the European market. These will all be shipped in 2009.

Invenergy had already announced back in November a deal for some additional 800 MW of Wind Tribunes for 2009. This was in addition to 600 MW in 2007 , 700 in 2008 bringing the total to 2,100 MW. The tribunes are to be used in facilities and projects across Canada, the United States and Europe.

Currently the company has 13 facilities with 1,200 MW of installed capacity.
