Iberdrola Renewables which has over 7,704 MW of wind power with 4,571 in Spain is one of the worldwide leaders in renewable energy no doubt. This deal further reinforces the companies footing in Eastern Europe. Thus far the company has moved into Poland, Hungary and Estonia. This adds to the 1,370 MW of capacity which are currently under construction. There are a total of 50 projects in the deal with 800 wind farm installation sites. The first of these is expected to be operational in 2009. Total price for the deal with Eolica Dobrogea (Schweiz) AG which is a company that belongs to the Swiss engineering group NEK and the Romanian company Rokura is projected to be between 200 to 300 million Euros.
Iberdrola Renewables has 105 MW already operating in Poland with another 150 located in the largest wind farm in Estonia. Eolica Dobrogea (Schweiz) AG will be responsible for the development of the projects.
