REpower awarded with 263 MW of ENEL tender for projects in France and Italy

 

The second largest utility in Europe ENEL has announced that it choose REpower Systems AG to supply wind turbines for its new farms in France and Italy for a total of 263 MW.

The tender for these projects in France , Spain and Italy went out in 2007. The total amount for the tender was 543 MW with 158 MW in France and 105 in Italy. The later of the two were won by REpower. This follows on an earlier contract in April between the two companies for wind power projects in France.

The new wind farms will use the 2 MW MM92 from REpower. The production and installation period is scheduled between 2009 to 2011.

REpower CEO Per Hornung Pedersen was quoted as saying; “We are pleased having obtained 263 MW of the tender, which underlines both ENEL’S and REpower’s will to establish a long-term partnership for European projects in the future.”
