REpower gets the nod for 954 MW tender for wind farm in Canada

These projects will represent a total of $2.0 billion worth of investments. At least 60% will have to be spent in Quebec , with about 30 percent being related to the manufacture of wind turbines in the local and regional areas. REpower was awarded an exclusive option agreement with regards to the delivery of the wind turbines last year by St Laurent Energies consortium. The consortium includes EDF Energies Nouvelles , Hydromega Services Inc.and RES Canada. EDF already has close ties with REpower being a long time customer. The farms will be equipped with 2 MW (MM82 an MM92) wind turbines. After the remaining power purchase agreements are finalized between the parties, this will rank as one of the biggest orders in the industry thus far. The time table is for getting the farms up and running between the end of 2011 and of 2015.
