The deal worth approximately 1.5 billion euros will go ahead and make Scottish and Souther Energy the biggest owner of wind power in the United Kingdom.
The company amongst other assets has a 308 MW portfolio of onshore wind farms operating in Scotland, the United Kingdom and Ireland with a further 291 MW in various stages of development in these areas. In addition to this there is 50% stake in a 504 MW offshore development off the coast of East Anglia and 1,222MW portfolio of early stage European wind energy development projects in Portugal (587MW) and the Netherlands (635MW; offshore); a 6,675MW portfolio of wind energy development projects in China. In total the deal will involve renewable energy assets with just about 1,900 MW moving ownership.
