The order is for 32 V90-1.8 MW turbines for the Mudèfer I and II projects in Spain
The contract will include supply, installation, commissioning, a VestasOnlineTM Business SCADA solution as well as a five-year service agreement. The delivery of the turbines is slated to start in 2009. The projects are located in the Tarragona region of Catalonia. The total capacity of the project will be 57.6 MW. This marks the third wind project for Vestas in the region. The region has currently 347 MW of wind power installed with a target of 1000 MW by 2010.
“We are pleased that CATER has chosen Vestas turbines for their first wind power plant, and we look forward to proving to them that they can rely on Vestas' technology,” says Juan Araluce, President of Vestas Mediterranean A/S, and concludes: “Furthermore, it is very nice to see Catalonia's growing interest in wind energy.”
