The biomethane incorporated at the Dourogás filling station, in Loures, comes from a pioneering demonstration of concept project that allows the production of 100% renewable natural gas from the anaerobic digestion of organic waste. Remember that Biogasmove has already promoted the supply of a fleet of vehicles of the intercity company Resíduos do Nordeste from the bio digestion and energy recovery of the organic matter collected by these vehicles, successfully responding to the design of the Circular Economy.
Dourogás has also recently established a partnership with Águas do Tejo Atlântico, to start a demonstration-of-concept project aimed at the production of biomethane from sludge produced in the Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP).
With the demonstration of the possibility of incorporating biomethane into the NGV supply system, Dourogás reaffirms its priority and commitment to renewable gases, such as hydrogen and biomethane, on which the Group’s research and development efforts are concentrated, to overcome the challenges of the energy transition that Portugal and the world need.
