“On behalf of the American Biogas Council and its member companies, we congratulate Mr. Wright on his confirmation. The biogas industry produces an important source of clean energy by converting food scraps, manure, landfill gas and other often wasted material, into renewable fuel and electricity that can be relied on whenever it is needed for as long as it is needed.
"We look forward to working with Wright’s Energy Department to support U.S. energy dominance and economic growth in every state across the nation.”
Wright is the CEO of Liberty Energy, North America's second largest hydraulic fracturing company. He is a board member of Oklo Inc., a nuclear technology company, and EMX Royalty, a royalty payment company for mineral rights and mining rights in the Netherlands.
Speaking on his nomination, Wright said, “I am deeply honored by this nomination and opportunity to serve our country and continue the mission of bringing affordable, reliable energy to the citizens of the United States and beyond.”
Wright holds engineering degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California at Berkeley and describes himself on his company’s website as a “tech nerd turned entrepreneur and a dedicated humanitarian.”
Wright was confirmed by the Senate on Feb. 3.
