Practitioners from all over the world are invited to participate and submit their innovative ideas. The eventual winner of the Fact Innovation Award will receive €10,000 to help further the development of the winning concept.
The award will be bestowed on 13 April 2012 at a ceremony to be held in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
Founded in 2005, the Fact Foundation has been focusing on the use of agricultural wastes, agroforestry, intercropping and production on unused lands, both food and fuel production to produce sustainable energy in developing countries.
The deadline for submissions is 23 February 2012.
Submissions will be reviewed by a pane consisting of Paul van Aalst, Director of E+Co Europe; Henny Romijn, Associate Professor in Technology, Development and Globalisation at Eindhoven University of Technology; Johan Sanders, Professor at the Wageningen University Chair of Valorisation of Plant Production Chains (WU-VPP); Jan Wery, Science Director at Dyadic Netherlands; and Daan Dijk, Senior Manager Sustainable Energy & Climate, Rabobank.
