So far, they have developed biodegradable plastics, biodegradable resins, natural coating materials, biomass paints, biomass plasticizers, biomass lubricants, biomass 3D printer molded products (including table, furniture), nail cosmetics, and more, all of which use ingredients derived from plants and natural biomass with as little petroleum as possible.
Now, they have created a glue from plant-derived ingredients. It is a two solution mixing type epoxy resin glue with a plant biomass content of 30-50%. They are aiming to further increase the plant biomass content in the future.
Although it is plant- and biomass-derived, just like commercially available petroleum-derived epoxy resin glue, it can be used not only on wood and wood-based materials, but also on ceramics, glass, metal, plastics, and films, and exhibits adhesive strength that is roughly comparable to that of commercially available petroleum-derived epoxy resin glues.
Green Science Alliance is planning to sell this plant biomass based glue on their company internet shopping site.
