The General Coordinator of Environment, Sustainability and Mobility of the City of Madrid, Paz Valiente, has welcomed this new service, saying, "I think it's great news for Madrid and the fact that it is an electric vehicle also contributes in a very positive way to noise pollution." Valiente has also highlighted the tendency to "give space to citizens by gradually abandoning the idea of a car in property and tend toward the idea of intermodality."
The COUP electric scooters have a maximum speed of 45 km / h and a range of up to 100 kilometers and can be located and booked through the myScotty mobile app. To be able to use these bikes you must have a B driving license and be over 21.
According to Luis González, general director of COUP in Madrid, the service will not be limited, moreover, to the interior of the M30 but will be extended to other nearby districts, with the intention of continuing to expand the range of action when the service is consolidated.
The COUP scooters will be added to those already offered four other companies in Madrid: eCooltra, Muving, Ioscoot and Movo.
