The announcement that Holden will supply recharge data collected from its internal fleet of Volts before the vehicle goes on sale in Australia later this year came as the nation observes Energy and Environment Week.
At the same time, the company unveiled plans for a significant consumer education effort to promote awareness of the benefits of electric vehicles.
In a written statement, Richard Marshall, Holden's director for energy and the environment, said getting involved in the electric vehicle trial will help "to develop a better understanding of how people drive and recharge vehicles in Australia.”
During the 12-week trial, Holden employees will provide ongoing feedback to the company's launch team, which also sharing their experiences with the car via Facebook and other social networks.
