The Japanese automaker is also offering incentive packages that include free home charging station and unlimited mileage.
Sales of al-electric vehicles in the US have been particular sluggish with only about 12,000 being sold this year to date, according to published reports.
Beginning on 1 June, the lease price of a Fit EV will be a $259-a-month lease, a reduction o $130 from the initial $389-a-month offer when the car went on sale in July 2012.
The three-year lease requires no money down and comes with unlimited mileage, free routine maintenance, collision insurance coverage and a free 240-volt home charging station (a $995 value in and of itself), the company said.
However, Fit EV buyers will be expected to take care of the charging station's installation themselves.
