The deal will see thousands of homes a year across the UK built with Indra chargers. Persimmon and Charles Church homes will be supplied with Indra’s Smart PRO Untethered EV charger.
The deal between Persimmon and Indra is testimony to the UK's growing demand for sustainable and future-ready housing. It is also the latest move by the housebuilder to enhance its proposition considering government regulations requiring all new homes and buildings in England to be fitted with EV charging points.
One of the fastest chargers on the market, the Smart PRO can charge 60kWh in under 9 hours and comes with innovative features, including solar compatibility, access to Indra’s handy app and a lock function preventing unauthorized access to a charger.
What’s more, Indra’s smart home chargers work with a wide range of electricity tariffs, including the most popular EV tariffs, such as OVO Charge Anytime and Octopus Energy’s Octopus GO . This means buyers can access cheaper and greener electricity and pick the most suitable option for their lifestyle.
Simon Tate, Vice President of Sales at Indra, said: “We are excited to partner with Persimmon Homes to bring our state-of-the-art charging technology to homes across the UK.
“This partnership highlights our shared commitment to a sustainable future by making energy management smarter, greener, and more accessible. As the EV market grows, we’re proud to support homeowners with next-generation charging solutions that are advanced, future-proof, and aligned with the evolving needs of domestic energy use.”
Kieren Hanlon, Group Procurement Director at Persimmon Homes, added, “We are delighted to sign an agreement with Indra for the supply of their Smart PRO EV Charger, this supports our strategy of building sustainable homes that meet the future needs of our customers”
