After crossing Europe and driving more than 3,700 kilometres, the fourth edition of Eco-Trek looks at how the poetry of Portuguese writer Fernando Pessoa is being used to promote urban cycling in Lisbon.
Eco-Trek producers then move on to interview eco-architect and designer Pedro Campos Costa on the use of cardboard is a resourceful material to make a clean green statement. Campos Costa, who is best known for his design of the extension of Lisbon’s Ocenario, has created an intricate installation in Lisbon’s LOW Bar. The glue-free cardboard creation acts as a seating unit, a shelving unit and is a remarkable work of art.
Finally, the cars move on to Stone House in Portugal, an eco-friendly getaway wedged between four large boulders in the mountains of Fafe, described by Eco-Trek as “a spectacle of green design”.
Next week we’ll be reporting on the Mercedes F-Cell World Drive after crossing the Atlantic to the US.
