Powered by next-generation core computers, notably the dual Nvidia Drive AGX Orin technology, the ES90 is the latest addition to Volvo’s balanced product portfolio of premium electric cars, moving the company closer to full electrification.
The vehicle’s 800-volt technology delivers faster charging, a better overall performance and more efficiency, producing a car that goes farther and charges faster than any electric Volvo before. It can add 300 kilometres of range in just 10 minutes at 350kW fast charging stations and offers a driving range of up to 700 kilometres under the WLTP testing cycle.
“The Volvo ES90 combines our most advanced technologies with Scandinavian design and superior comfort, creating a true premium Volvo car designed to elevate your quality of life” said Volvo CEO Jim Rowan. “It joins the EX90 SUV as one of our flagship models and cements our position as an industry leader in software-defined cars that harness the power of core computing.”
The ES90 also features technology enabling bi-directional charging, which will enable owners to help power their homes from the vehicle battery or export excess power to the grid.
Volvo is also going to launch a 92kWh version capable of up to 404 miles of range costing around £70,000. There are also single motor, twin motor, four wheel drive and twin motor performance versions on their way.
Sales of the ES90 will commence sometime this month, but first deliveries are not expected in the UK until March or April 2026.
