The Tokyo-based company launched its flagship A4000i model -- the world’s first e-scooter with smartphone connection -- only four months ago. Since then it says it has received more than 300 orders for the e-scooter from Japan, Vietnam, Italy and Iran.
The new, A2000 model has a double shock rear suspension, relies on a lead-acid battery, does not include an iPhone connection, and comes in three colors -- white, green and red purple.
It is going on sale in Vietnam today, and the company says it will open 15 showrooms in the country by March. It says it hopes to have distributor agreements in 10 to 15 additional countries by summer.
The suggested retail price of the A2000 is $2,000 (€1,680).
Toru Tokushige, CEO of Terra Motors said in a written statement that the new model will enable the company to achieve its vision of “leading innovations with electric vehicles in creating clean & sustainable society”.
