After a stoppage in 2020 as a result of COVID-19, the VEM Fair will once again bring to Madrid the latest models of cars, motorcycles, scooters, bicycles and electric trucks of the major automotive brands, the different options existing recharging infrastructures on the market and everything related to zero-emission mobility.
More than 50 brands from the world of electric mobility, between vehicle manufacturers and recharging infrastructures, electric marketers and other mobility services, will meet in the Plaza de Colón at VEM2021, together with shared electric mobility services, operators recharge and associated services.
This year the test area is also extended to the Plaza de Colón car park, accommodating 30% more vehicles.
The fair will follow appropriate protocols against COVID-19 to guarantee the safety of visitors and professionals who attend the event in the Plaza de Colón.
The MOVES III plan, presented at the beginning April, 2020, has a budget of €400 million (expandable to €800 million) and is one of the main initiatives launched by the Government to promote electric mobility. In the case of the Madrid region, which is the one that registers the most electric vehicles in Spain, it represents more than €57 million in aid for its comparison and recharging infrastructures.
Madrid is promoting, through the Electric Mobility Table, incentive plans for the purchase of two-wheeled electric vehicles and a plan to motivate residents of the region to scrap their old combustion vehicles and receive a mobility voucher to use the shared mobility services for cars and motorcycles in Madrid.
