The company will work with Kansas public entities to develop, fund and implement a wide range of energy-related infrastructure with guaranteed results. Participating end users can include a broad spectrum of state agencies, municipalities, counties and schools aiming to minimize energy spending by maximizing energy efficiency. Kansas’ energy efficiency initiatives also reduce the need to build or expand power generation facilities.
The State certifies providers after undertaking an extensive review to ensure the applicant’s ability to deliver and guarantee long-term operational savings for public agencies.
“Agencies that implement these guaranteed energy-savings initiatives are able to help ease the tax burdens faced by the people of Kansas” said Michael W. Gibson, Vice President of ConEdison Solutions. “When public entities upgrade their facilities in a way that ensures a long-term reduction in energy spending, the effective outcome is an upgrade that costs less for Kansas taxpayers.”
The certification enables ConEdison Solutions to act as a pre-approved ESCO in 23 states across the US. The company is currently one of only ten accredited Energy Services Providers (ESP) awarded the highest level of accreditation by the National Association of Energy Services Companies (NAESCO). It is also approved as energy services contractor by the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Defense, and the United States Postal Service. Public entities that hire pre-approved, FCIP-certified vendors reduce costs by avoiding the time and expense these agencies would otherwise devote to identifying qualified vendors.
The company has also earned a certificate of authorization to practice engineering by the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions. It’s Overland Park office has been operating in Kansas for over a decade.
