On Wednesday March 16, 2022, McCormack will be among the speakers at the H2 Green TECH Policy Forum event, ‘Strengthening Slovenian-Austrian Cross-Border Cooperation for the development of low carbon technologies.
The event will identify national, regional and local priorities related to the development and financing of hydrogen technologies in Slovenia and Austria.
The Policy Forum is organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, (Slovenia) in cooperation with other H2 Green TECH partners.
McCormack will speak about, ‘Experiences and lessons learned within GenComm and other hydrogen-based technology projects.’
There will be a workshop, ‘Opportunities for Joint Financing of research, development and innovation of hydrogen technologies. Among those taking part are Andreas Dorda, Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, Peter Raimann, Austrian Energy Agency, (Austria) and Marko Hren, Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy Development and Management Decision, (Slovenia).
European Commission initiatives on hydrogen will also be discussed on the day with Helene Chraye, European Commission, Head of Unit, Clean Energy Transition taking part. Alexander Meincke, Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Department European and International Cooperation, (Germany) will also speak on the ‘Agenda Process on Green Hydrogen’.

This event enables Belfast Met and NI Industry to create wider trans-European partnerships and also to strengthen our R&D position in the hydrogen economy. In working with our Slovenian and Austrian partners we are helping inform their national hydrogen roadmaps and ensuring that Northern Ireland is at the center of the emerging international hydrogen highway.”
