According to the map of the first national Hydrogen Project Census, which was recently published by the Spanish Hydrogen Association AeH2, DH2 Energy has both the greatest number of projects and the largest electrolysis capacity under development.
The Hydrogen Project Census of the Spanish Hydrogen Association AeH2 produced the first exhaustive map reflecting the advancement of renewable hydrogen development in Spain. In this first edition, the map only includes advanced projects, with a TRL 7 or higher. Data on a total of 123 projects was collated representing the whole hydrogen value chain, including both planned and operative projects.
In the map, a total of 20 DH2 Energy's projects, for the production of green hydrogen, are included. These projects have a total electrolysis capacity of 6.3 GW. Since the survey, DH2 Energy's pipeline has evolved and the number of projects under development has increased.
Within Spain there are no other independent developers which match the capacity or the number of projects under development by DH2 Energy.
DH2 Energy is by far the developer with the greatest electrolysis capacity under development. The report produced by AeH2 forecasts that there could be a total pipeline of planned electrolysis projects within Spain of 11 GW under development starting in 2026.
