The assessment records 37 new hydrogen stations opened in Europe, 89 in Asia, and 13 in North America, resulting in a total of 685 hydrogen refuelling stations in operation worldwide at the end of 2021 across 33 countries. Plans are already in place for an additional 252 refuelling station locations, particularly in Spain and New Zealand where concrete locations for refuelling stations have been announced for the first time. Hungary and Slovenia are new additions to the list of countries refuelling hydrogen refuelling facilities.
H2stations.org (www.H2stations.org) is a comprehensive site for information on hydrogen refuelling stations across the globe, including those that are in the planning stages alongside those already in operation and other stations that, for one reason or another, have been shut down. The website draws on an extensive database that has been maintained and continuously updated since 2005.
“Despite the increasing maintenance effort, we still continue to provide basic information free of charge for non-commercial use” said LBST Managing Director Uwe Albrecht. “We offer commercial users to license the data including further detailed information, regular reports on new developments, technologies andmarkets, and bespoke analyses.”
