Hydrogen is considered a key technology driver for the future when it comes to reducing CO₂ emissions and transitioning to renewable energy. The demand for technologies like the Innomotics PR150 that help produce hydrogen safely, and cost effectively is therefore expected to increase.
Innomotics’ tailored the design of the PR150 specifically to green hydrogen production, aimed at both low-voltage and medium-voltage applications and specifically designed to power hydrogen electrolysers with a power range of 5 to 16 MW.
As part of the order, three Innomotics PR150 units will be produced in Nuremberg and delivered to the US for installation in a 40ft packaged control room together with the balance of the rectifier control and circuit protection equipment. The complete system will be installed at NREL’s Flatirons campus with a planned start up in Q2 2026.
“This project presents a tremendous opportunity to collaborate with a marquee research and development entity engaged in working with industry to accelerate and scale aggressive decarbonisation goals for various hard to abate market sectors” said Doug Keith, CEO & Head of Innomotics Americas. “This groundbreaking order for the application of Innomotics high power rectifiers serving the green hydrogen sector and is an important step forward in the development of this critical market.”
