Virgin Atlantic’s historic flight on 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel took off from London Heathrow to New York JFK today on Nov. 28, marking the culmination of a year of radical collaboration, to demonstrate the capability of SAF as a safe drop-in replacement for fossil derived jet fuel, compatible with today’s engines, airframes and fuel infrastructure.

Plant Using Rice Husk Biomass to Generate Energy Receives Approval in Brazil

The State Foundation for Environmental Protection (Fepam) issued an Installation License for the Uruguaiana Thermoelectric Plant, in Fronteira Oeste, which will use rice husk biomass to generate electrical energy. The project has a maximum instantaneous generation capacity of 5 MW, enough to meet the residential consumption of a city of around 30 thousand.

Eneco Takes Important Step Towards Building Green Hydrogen Plant

Eneco has submitted its planning application for the construction of the ‘Eneco Electrolyzer’, a green hydrogen production plant in Rotterdam’s Europoort industrial area. Green hydrogen is produced using electricity generated by renewable energy. Eneco is working together with Mitsubishi on this through the Eneco Diamond Hydrogen joint venture.
