Strategic Partners To Expand Solutions In Stationary Energy Storage

After signing an MoU, Verkor, European pioneer of low-carbon high-performance battery cells, and Nidec, a leader in stationary energy storage systems, announced a non-binding partnership to produce 10 GWh in battery cells and modules by 2030. As part of this strategic partnership, Verkor will develop, manufacture and supply battery cells and modules. Nidec will further develop the battery management systems, integrate these modules into packs, racks and containers, and distribute them to specialized stationary energy storage players.

CorPower Ocean has successfully installed its first commercial scale WEC (Wave Energy Converter) in northern Portugal, as it accelerates towards making wave energy a bankable technology for mass deployment. The CorPower C4 device was launched in the port of Viana do Castello, before being towed to the Aguçadoura site located 4km offshore.

Electric commercial vehicle manufacturer Volta Trucks has published an initial life cycle assessment (LCA) of its new 16-tonne Volta Zero. The company appointed Global Environmental and Engineering specialist, Ricardo, to undertake a cradle-to-grave Life Cycle Assessment of its pre-production 16-ton all-electric Volta Zero.

Cologne Bonn Airport Switches to Neste MY Renewable Diesel in its Diesel-Powered Ground Fleet

Cologne Bonn Airport has switched to Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ in its diesel-powered ground fleet. Neste's renewable diesel (also known as HVO100) is made from 100 percent renewable raw materials, and it is in particular used for powering large and heavy vehicles such as the airport’s fire trucks. In total, switching to Neste MY Renewable Diesel will allow the airport to save almost 3,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e) annually compared to the use of fossil diesel.

The Berlin-based climate-tech startup Swobbee is expanding its service to include an online shop for rental batteries. The company is thus evolving into a comprehensive battery service provider for micromobility. The offer is aimed at both existing Swobbee customers and fleet operators who do not yet use Swobbee services, as well as private customers. Previous or future use of Swobbee stations is not a prerequisite.
