Association helps restaurants trim fat, turns it into bio-fuel

The Association of Restaurant Owners for a Sustainable Earth (AROSE) grew out of a single man's vision into a 15,500 member collective -- the organization's web site refers to it as an "environmental action group" -- dedicated to collecting used cooking oil and grease trap waste and refining it into a clean-burning, 100 percent organic bio-fuel.

The Mexican government’s Secretaría de Energía (SENER) is the department responsible for energy production and regulation, promoting the use of renewable energy sources in reducing fossil fuel dependence. It recently issued a Study on prospects for renewable energy development in Mexico, suggesting that there is between 16 GW and 20 GW of potential renewable energy deployment available over the next 15 years.
