Nanowire solar cells “truly promising” for PV’s future Nanowire solar cells “truly promising” for PV’s future
A team from Berkeley Lab has developed an inexpensive technique for making high quality nanowire solar cells, which could help to cut photovoltaic (PV) solar cell production costs while maintaining cell efficiency levels.p>
Breakthrough in sight for new cheaper solar cells
Last week, Renewable Energy Magazine reported on a breakthrough made by Berkley Lab using nanowires. Today, it is the turn of researchers at the University of Surrey (England) who have reported a novel route to increase the efficiency of solar cells by using tiny structures that are typically ten thousandth the width of a human hair called nanotubes.
