Rewofuel Biofuel Project Kicks Off in Sweden

Representatives from eleven European companies and universities gathered in the Swedish town of Örnsköldsvik, to kick-start the EU-funded project Rewofuel. The long-term aim is to lay the groundwork for many new biorefineries across Europe, using wood residues from the forest industry to produce biofuels.

Infrastructure developer Saipem has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with California Ethanol & Power, LLC, for the construction of a low carbon emission plant for the production of renewable energy and biofuel.

Thyssenkrupp Lands Contract with Australian Company H2U

Germany’s thyssenkrupp has recently been awarded a contract to perform a feasibility study for a new green hydrogen project by the Australian hydrogen infrastructure company Hydrogen Utility™ (H2U). A 30MW water electrolysis plant as well as a facility for sustainable ammonia production are planned to be constructed near Port Lincoln in South Australia. It will be one of the first ever commercial plants to produce CO2-free “green” ammonia from intermittent renewable resources.
