Black Dog Biogas to Provide Renewable Energy For Vestas Factory in UK

Black Dog Biogas, the owner and operator of an anaerobic digestion plant near Newport on the Isle of Wight, has completed commissioning of a private wire to supply renewable electricity to Vestas’ neighboring wind blade manufacturing facility. The project, led by Black Dog Biogas and its manager Earth Capital, will supply low-carbon electricity to Vestas’ 221.2k sq. ft plant. The facility employs over 600 people and produces 80 m long blades for installation on offshore wind projects globally, particularly in the UK. Vestas will use this renewable electricity to manufacture offshore wind turbine blades that will generate low carbon power in wind farms.

New Powerpaste for Hydrogen Storage

New Powerpaste for Hydrogen Storage

Gasoline and diesel engines, which are powered by fossil fuels, will soon be sidelined by climate change. Instead, new propulsion systems will be required. One fuel with a big potential is hydrogen. Hydrogen vehicles are equipped with a reinforced tank that is fueled at a pressure of 700 bar. This tank feeds a fuel cell, which converts the hydrogen into electricity. This in turn drives an electric motor to propel the vehicle.
