New Research Project to Develop Optimized Biogas from Bacteria

A new international research and innovation project called MICRO4BIOGAS has just kicked off, aiming to develop natural and synthetic microbial communities for the production of optimized biogas. The project has been funded with  €5.7M under the EU H2020 program for a duration of four years, and it comprises 14 institutionsf rom six countries, including universities, companies and the local government of one Spanish town where a cutting-edge biogas plant will be built.

Delta Biofuel Proposes $70 Million Renewable Fuel Plant in Louisiana

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and Delta Biofuel CEO Philip Keating announced the company is evaluating Iberia Parish, Louisiana, for a planned $70 million renewable fuel plant. The planned production facility would produce biomass fuel pellets made from residual sugarcane fiber, known as bagasse.

HoSt has scored a contract to construct the turnkey anaerobic digestion (AD) plant at the Stanton Recycling site in Ilkeston, UK. By treating mainly green waste and liquid food waste for Stanton Energy, the AD facility will annually produce more than 3,5 million Nm3 biomethane for gas grid injection and distribution.
