Greek Poultry Farmers Invest in Biogas Plants from Weltec Biopower

German biogas plant specialist Weltec Biopower registers keen interest in its plant technology in Greece. In the past year, Weltec expanded its market leadership in the southern European country by building four further projects and expanding three existing plants. Due to the great potential of organic residues to produce biogas and biomethane, especially in the north of the country, the climate-friendly energy source is playing an increasingly important role in the Greek energy transition.

First 100% Natural Biomass-Based Biodegradable Thermoplastic Material

Environmental issues such as climate change and deforestation due to the explosion of the human population are becoming increasingly severe worldwide; in particular, plastic pollution produces adverse effects, especially for the marine environment. Some scientific studies have reported that microplastics and nanoplastics are already present in the human body as a result of breathing air. Therefore, recycling of plastic, reduction of plastic use, and use and development of biodegradable plastic have been intensively challenged and performed.

CMS and Ammongas Collaborate to Introduce Biogas Upgrading Technology to N. America

Clean Methane Systems and Ammongas have introduced amine technology to North American renewable natural gas (RNG) customers. The new Danish technology simplifies biogas upgrading by minimizing the steps required to prepare and inject renewable natural gas into the grid.  Amine technology also reduces the operational cost of the system in the novel way it manages hydrogen sulfide and other contaminants in the gas stream.

AAK to Invest in Biomass Boilers for Substantial CO₂ Reduction

AAK AB will invest approximately $55 million (SEK 500 million) to install biomass boilers at its production plant in Aarhus, Denmark – an initiative that is expected to reduce the plant’s CO₂ emissions by approximately 90%. The installation will also generate substantial savings as fossil fuel will be replaced by shea meal, a by-product from the plant’s shea oil extraction process. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2023.
