Caterpillar and Cat Dealer Zahid Tractor Supply 32 MW of Power Capable of Using Renewable Biodiesel 

Caterpillar Inc. today announced that Cat® dealer Zahid Tractor was selected by the main contractor to supply power solutions that deliver 32 MW of prime power for The Red Sea Project, a nearly 11,000 square-mile (28,000 square-kilometer) regenerative tourism destination under development along Saudi Arabia’s west coast.

Scandinavian Biogas Signs Bio-LNG Delivery Agreement with German LNG Distributor Alternoil

Scandinavian Biogas has entered a long-term agreement with Alternoil for the delivery of Bio-LNG to be included in the climate-neutral fuel REEFUEL distributed on the German transportation market. The agreed volumes are 8,000 tonnes during ramp up in 2024 to be 11,500 tonnes (160 GWh) per year from 2025 to 2030. Corresponding to over 1 TWh energy with a total order value of approximately SEK 2,7 billion. The agreement also includes the optionality to increase volumes up to 2 TWh corresponding to SEK 4.7 billion.

Companies Announce Order for Conversion of Aircraft to Be Powered by Green Hydrogen

At the UP.Summit, an annual gathering of leaders in air transport innovation hosted by venture capital firm UP.Partners, Universal Hydrogen Co. and Connect Airlines, a division of Waltzing Matilda Aviation, announced that the airline has placed a firm order to convert 75 ATR 72-600 regional airplanes to hydrogen powertrains, with purchase rights for an additional 25 conversions. Deliveries will start in 2025. The agreement follows an initial letter of intent (LOI) between the companies announced in 2021.

Delta, Neste, Colonial Pipeline Show Current Infrastructure Ready for SAF

Delta’s journey toward its sustainability goals hit another important milestone as the airline leveraged the largest pipeline system in the U.S. to bring sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to airports along the East Coast by accepting a batch of SAF that will be used to power a Delta flight at New York’s LaGuardia Airport.  

Wärtsilä Biogas Upgrading Plant Will Help Turn Grass into Gas

The technology group Wärtsilä will supply its Puregas CA50 biogas upgrading plant for an innovative Green Gas Mill project in the U.K. designed to turn grass into gas that can be used to heat homes. The project is being headed by Ecotricity, a British energy company dedicated to fighting climate change by ending the use of fossil fuels. The order with Wärtsilä was placed in April 2022.

LG Chem Partners With GS EPS to Build Biomass Power Plant

LG Chem has announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent with GS EPS, South Korea’s leading green energy supplier, to collaborate on a biomass-based ecofriendly energy project. Attended by key stakeholders including LG Chem’s petrochemical business head Noh Kug-lae, GS EPS CEO Chung Chan-soo, among others, the agreement is a key component of LG Chem’s strategy to ensure a more sustainable future by converting its energy sources to sustainable fuels to reduce its carbon emissions

CenterPoint Energy Launches Green Hydrogen Project in Minnesota

CenterPoint Energy has announced that its green hydrogen project in Minneapolis is operational. The project uses renewable electricity to safely split hydrogen from water, and the zero-carbon hydrogen is then blended at low concentrations with natural gas in the utility's local distribution system.
