USD Clean Fuels Announces New Biofuels Terminal in National City, California

USD Clean Fuels LLC is planning to build a new biofuels terminal in National City, California, that will have the capability to transload renewable diesel, biodiesel, ethanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). The terminal will be served by the BNSF Railway and will provide efficient transportation of clean fuels to the area from the Midwest and US Gulf Coast. Pending receipt of all local and state permits, the terminal is expected to be operational by early 2024.

Yosemite Clean Energy to Receive $1 Million for Forest Biomass to Hydrogen Projects

Yosemite Clean Energy was selected to receive two $500,000 Forest Biomass to Carbon-Negative Biofuels grants from the California Department of Conservation (“DOC”). The DOC grant program is a vote of confidence for forest biomass to biofuels projects in the state and will increase the pace and scale of biofuels development. The projects funded under the program will support sustainable forest stewardship within California that will help reduce the risk of wildfires and provide zero emission, carbon-negative fuels for the transportation industry.

Companies Explore Production of SAF from Municipal Solid Waste and Renewable Hydrogen  

Masdar, ADNOC, bp, Tadweer and Etihad Airways announced at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2023 an agreement to conduct a joint feasibility study on exploring the production in the UAE of sustainable aviation fuel and other products, such as renewable diesel and naphtha, using municipal solid waste and renewable hydrogen.

Scandinavian Biogas is building the facility in collaboration with local farmers and will produce liquefied biogas (Bio-LNG) with manure as feedstock. The production capacity is estimated to be 120 GWh, and the production is planned to start in Q4 2024.
