UK Firm Invests £1m in Biomass

A Black Country based pallet and packaging company has invested more than £1m in a new renewable energy plant as part of its ongoing drive to lower its carbon footprint. Nicklin Transit Packaging, which is the UK’s largest independent pallet and packaging firm, has installed the new biomass heating system at its main manufacturing site on the Woods Bank Estate in Wednesbury.

ePURE, the European renewable ethanol association, is arguing that EU policymakers should take into account the significant GHG-reduction score of EU renewable ethanol. EU energy ministers have adopted the trilogue agreement for the revision of the CO2 emission standards for cars and vans after Germany secured the implementation of a work-around for vehicles running exclusively on e-fuels.
