Valmet and Greenalia Biomass Power Curtis-Teixeiro S.L.U have signed a three-year service agreement to further improve the performance of Greenalia’s Curtis-Teixeiro biomass plant in Spain. The agreement is included in Valmet's orders received of the first quarter 2023 and is effective immediately. The value of the agreement will not be disclosed.

Deutsche Bahn to Purchase 13,000 Tons of Neste MY Renewable Diesel

Deutsche Bahn is expanding its use of renewable diesel significantly this year by purchasing around 13,300 tons (17 million liters) of renewable diesel produced by Neste. Switching from fossil diesel to Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ will enable Deutsche Bahn to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the operation of their diesel-powered locomotives and railcars by up to 90 %*. In total, the purchased amount will save Deutsche Bahn around 46,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions (CO2e) compared to the use of fossil diesel.

Scandinavian Biogas has identified concrete investment opportunities for the construction of biogas plants in Germany and has decided to establish a subsidiary in the strategically important German market. The company has also signed an agreement with German Biogas i Sverige AB a project development company which has initiated the development of two production plants in Germany with a combined capacity of approximately 240 GWh.

Steeper Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Invest Alberta Corporation to commercialize Steeper’s proprietary Hydrofaction® technology within Alberta, aligning with Alberta’s broader goal of becoming Canada’s cleantech leader. Steeper’s Hydrofaction® technology is a proprietary form of Hydrothermal Liquefaction which over Steeper’s 12-year history has been proven capable of converting a wide range of biowaste feedstocks to flexible renewable biocrude. Hydrofaction® biocrude can be used directly or upgraded for use as a renewable marine, diesel, or aviation fuel.
