Neste Welcomes New Distributor in the Danish Market

Neste is partnering with Biofuel Express to sell Neste MY Renewable Diesel™ in Denmark. Biofuel Express will distribute and sell Neste MY Renewable Diesel, while Neste will ensure sufficient volumes of the fuel. Neste MY Renewable Diesel has been available in the Danish market since April this year, when Neste entered the market.

Spanner Re² GmbH delivers 1000th Biomass Plant to Dairy in Allgäu

The 1000th biomass power plant was recently produced at the Lower Bavarian plant of Spanner Re² GmbH in Neufahrn. The biomass power plant will be installed in a dairy in Germany, beside 11 other plants from Re². With the conversion to the proven power plants of Spanner Re² GmbH, the dairy cooperative will be completely self-sufficient in energy in the future and this will be 100% renewable energy.

Casterra scores $2.2M of POs to supply castor seeds for African territories

Integrated castor cultivation solution company and a subsidiary of Evogene Ltd, Casterra Ag Ltd, has announced an additional $2.2 million of purchase orders to supply castor seeds during 2023, for new African territories, which will be used to grow Castor to produce oil for sustainable biofuel. Casterra's high-yield, high-oil castor seed varieties are optimised for biofuel production.

IndianOil and Praj to Form JV For Building Biofuels Production Capacities in India

In a recent development, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Praj Industries Limited signed a term sheet to advance plans to strengthen biofuels production capacities in India. Various biofuels covered under this MoU include Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), Ethanol, Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG), Biodiesel and Bio-bitumen among others. Earlier in October 2021, both the Companies had entered into an agreement to form a 50:50 Joint Venture to this end.

Naturgy to Construct a Renewable Gas Plant in Valencia, Spain

Naturgy will collaborate with AEMA Servicios Energéticos to construct a new biomethane plant in the Valencian district of Utiel which will have the capacity to produce 20 GWh per year. The project’s construction will commence shortly as it has the environmental license and planning permission granted by Utiel Town Council and will entail an investment of €2.7 million. Its start up date is planned for the beginning of 2025.

Virginia Company to Invest $7.5 Million in Biomass Expansion

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin announced recently that Musser Biomass and Wood Products, a division of family-owned and -operated Musser Lumber Company, will invest $7.5 million and create ten new, high-paying jobs to expand its operation in Wythe County. The expansion will more than double production of dried hardwood chips and sawdust the company supplies to composite decking manufacturers, plastic extrusion companies, and BBQ and heating wood pellet companies. Musser Biomass and Wood Products will also significantly increase its purchase volumes of hardwood residuals from regional sawmills, which will create a new market for this operational byproduct.
