Van Hool builds first double-deck battery electric coach

Independent Belgian bus, coach and industrial vehicle manufacturer Van Hool, has built a 100 percent battery electric double-deck coach, the TDX25E, which follows in the footsteps of its first, single deck electric coach, the CX45E. The new double deck electric coach provides space for 69 passengers (18 on the lower deck and 51 on the upper deck) and has a range of up to 500 kilometres, depending on the climatological conditions and the route’s topography.

Caterpillar to Launch Demonstration Project Using Hydrogen Fuel Cell Technology 

Caterpillar Inc. has launched a three-year project through a collaboration with Microsoft and Ballard Power Systems to demonstrate a power system incorporating a large-format hydrogen fuel cell to produce reliable and sustainable backup power for data centers. The project is supported and partially funded by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) under the H2@Scale initiative and backed by the National Renewable Energy Lab.

Neste Proceeds With Project to Demonstrate Production of Green Hydrogen 

Neste is entering into execution phase with its partners in the MultiPLHY consortium. The MultiPLHY project aims at installing, integrating and operating the world's first high-temperature electrolyzer system in multi-megawatt-scale (~2.4 MW) at Neste’s renewable products refinery in Rotterdam to demonstrate production of green hydrogen for the refinery's processes. The technology of the high-temperature electrolyzer is provided by Sunfire.

Bermuda and Seabased Sign Agreement for Site of 40MW Wave Energy Power Park

Fresh on the heels of COP26, Bermuda is leading in the energy transition by inaugurating the third vertical of renewable energy: blue ocean power. On November 22 in Hamilton, Bermuda, Deputy Premier and Minister of Home Affairs Hon. Walter Roban JP, MP, announced an agreement to move forward on the development of what promises to be the world’s first utility-scale commercial ocean wave power park. With a 40MW capacity, the park will fuel the island’s grid, providing roughly 10% of Bermuda's energy needs.
