Geothermal Could Become Workhorse of the Energy Transition

Geothermal energy—the heat deep below our feet—has the potential to become the workhorse of the energy transition as it grows from supplying just 0.4 percent of the world's energy today to upward of 20, 30, and even 50 percent by 2050. That's according to the co-founder and CEO of a company working to tap the mother lode of that energy who presented at the SOSV Climate Tech Summit 2022 held October 25-26. SOSV is a global venture capital firm.

Two Hydrogen Tractors Ordered at Dutch Lean & Green Congress

During a very well-attended Lean & Green Summit in Utrecht, the Netherlands, representatives of Vos Transport Group, BCTN Network of Inland Terminals and zepp.solutions completed the order for two unique hydrogen tractors. The trucks will be delivered at the end of 2023 and have a range of at least 600 km.

Volkswagen AG has announced a goal of making its data centre operations net carbon-neutral by 2027 by expanding its computing capacities at Green Mountain, a Norwegian operator of CO₂-neutral data centres where all the servers run on 100 percent renewable electricity generated by hydropower and are cooled naturally by the adjacent fjord.
