Australia/Israel Electriq~Global launches water-based fuel to power electric vehicles Electriq~Global, an Australian-Israeli startup, has found a way to use water in order to power electric vehicles (EVs) via new technology that the company will present at EcoMotion 2018 ‘Smart Mobility Summit’. Electriq~Global claims the new technology offers twice the range, at half the price with zero emissions compared to existing fuels. The fuel itself consists of 60 percent water, from which Electriq's technology extracts hydrogen. This is then harnessed to create electricity to power the vehicle. | Researchers Develop Artificial Photosynthesis System that Generates Both Hydrogen Fuel and Electricity Researchers at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (Berkeley Lab) and the Joint Center for Artificial Photosynthesis (JCAP), a DOE Energy Innovation Hub, have come up with a new recipe for renewable fuels that could bypass the limitations in current materials: an artificial photosynthesis device called a “hybrid photoelectrochemical and voltaic (HPEV) cell” that turns sunlight and water into not just one, but two types of energy – hydrogen fuel and electricity. The paper describing this work was published on October 29 in Nature Materials. | Biofuels Mazda supports carbon neutral biofuel research Electric/Hybrid Jaguar and leading London architects group present electrified vision for the future U.S. DOE, General Motors and MathWorks Launch EcoCAR Mobility Challenge Kia and Hyundai to introduce solar roof charging on selected Hyundai vehicles Volvo Cars Tech Fund invests in EV charging company FreeWire Energy saving Sunamp and Trina Solar sign MOU to collaborate on energy saving solution for global market Highview Power shortlisted for 2018 Green Energy and IET Innovation Awards Ocean Energy CorPower Ocean and Sustainable Marine Energy Partner on Foundation and Mooring Solutions France Hydro Group completes work on groundbreaking marine energy project Panorama IRENA Partners with Southeast Asian Countries to Increase Renewables in the Region The Autumn Budget: UK renewable energy yet again frustrated and disappointed PV Largest California Solar-Plus-Storage Project Agreement Signed Wind Siemens Gamesa Secures Order from ReNew Power for Two Wind Projects in India Gillespie Macandrew secures landmark decision on Shetland wind farm ORE study reveals long-term UK floating wind potential Agenda ICSD 2019 : 7th International Conference on Sustainable Development Solar PV Operations Conference & Exhibition The IAFOR International Conference on Sustainability, Energy & the Environment |
