Microsoft and Eneco Partner on Offshore Wind

Microsoft has signed a PPA with Dutch company, Eneco. Microsoft will purchase 90MW from the massive 731.5 MW offshore wind project, Borssele III/IV, from the wind farm developer. Eneco will provide Microsoft’s datacenters with green power for 15 years starting 2022.

According to AleaSoft, the prices of the majority of European markets decreased with respect to the previous week with the exception of the Iberian market MIBEL. The negative prices on Sunday, May 26, in the EPEX SPOT markets of Germany, France and Belgium were due to high renewable energy production.
